Timeshare/Visitation

Timeshare is the time period that a child spends with a custodian. The court determines what this arrangement is by evaluating a child's best interests. Currently, the presumption is parents will enjoy equal timeshare. This presumption can be overcome or may not be applicable, depending on the parties' circumstances. Timeshare is modifiable until a child emancipates: it may need to have a different schedule at different stages of the child's life or even during certain times of year, depending on the needs of the parents and of the child. Visitation is an arcane term for timeshare. It has fallen out of favor since parents do not normally visit their children.
